Coastal Healthcare Alliance

The Coastal Healthcare Alliance was established in late 2012 as a result of the Strategic Health Plan and Needs Assessment Study conducted for the Fort Stewart Growth Management Partnership (FSGMP) to determine the impact of expected BRAC-driven (Base Realignment and Closure) military build-up on the local health care delivery system in Georgia’s Bryan, Liberty, Long and Tattnall Counties.

The goal of the Alliance is to develop a sustainable program to continuously improve responsiveness of the local health care delivery system to changing health care needs of civilian and military population in the context of national and state health system changes and speak as one voice for change.

Behavioral health would be one of the first pilot projects. Administrative staff could be provided by state and local colleges.

The Alliance will be working closely with community healthcare and education leaders to encourage graduates to choose our four county areas as their place to live, work, and play. Internship programs provide a pipeline of talent for future workforce.
