Phil Odom, LCPC Chairman

Phil Odom is a lifelong resident of the McIntosh community in Liberty County, grounded in the history, culture, and natural landscape that have shaped his life in the place he calls home. His diverse professional past spanning road construction, the petrochemical industry, the commercial fishery, and his work as a published author, has given him a broad and nuanced understanding of the county’s history and its economic foundations.

Educated at Georgia Southern College and the University of Georgia he is a Coastal Georgia Master Naturalist, Phil is also a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His commitment to community service is reflected in his active roles with the Liberty County Historical Society, the Friends of Revolutionary War Fort Morris, the Colonial Midway Museum, Liberty County Cultural and Historic Resources Committee, the Hinesville Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Committee, and the Liberty Regional Water Resources Council. He also holds a Governor’s appointment to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Coastal Georgia Water Planning Council.

As a Liberty Consolidated Planning Commissioner, Phil is dedicated to shaping a thoughtful and sustainable future for Liberty County, one that honors its past while balancing economic growth with the protection of its cultural, historical, and ecological resources.
